Therefore, we encourage and support each family\u2019s attempt to be involved in the academic life of their child.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Our school provides services to children who have been identified with an emotional or behavioral disability and\/or autism. Students must be referred by their local school district Nonpublic Placement office\/team through the IEP process. Some of the challenges that our students present:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Inability to learn which may or may not be explained by intellectual, sensory, or health factors<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">A developmental disability significantly affecting verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Engaging in repetitive activities and stereotyped movements, resistance to environmental change or change in daily routines, and unusual responses to sensory experiences<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Inability to build or maintain satisfactory interpersonal relationships with peers and teachers<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Inability to cope with emotions and feelings under normal circumstances, which could present as disruptive and\/or unsafe behaviors<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">General pervasive mood of unhappiness or depression<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Tendency to develop physical symptoms or fears associated with personal or school problems; and\/or aggressive, harmful behaviors<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Children may also have secondary problems such as:<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul
